Patient information

If you have been given a request card by your GP, you do not need to make an appointment for an X-ray. 

The X-ray service is open Monday – Friday (excluding public holidays) from 8am – 6pm.
Our busiest periods are between 10am and 3pm.
You must bring the request card to hospital with you.

 

If you have been given a request card by your GP for any other examination (a scan), you will need to make an appointment. Please ring our call centre on 0114 226 8000.

How to find us:


Northern General

We advise using the Herries Road entrance and Car Parks H or J.
The Radiology department is on level D off the Vickers or Huntsman corridors.  Follow the signs for Radiology once inside the hospital.

Royal Hallamshire

X-Rays

On B-floor near the Minor Injuries Unit (Door 12 on the city centre side of the hospital).  Follow the signs for B-floor X-Ray once inside the hospital.

All other examinations

On C-floor near Boots the Chemist, follow signs for Radiology.  Please can all patients report to the main Radiology Reception on arrival.

Car parking at both sites can be limited at busy times, and it may be advisable to consider public transport.
